"I chose Awakening with Horses to deepen my connection with the horses I love, and to fundamentally enhance my experience of riding horses.
From the first session I learned to be really open to what my horse was showing me. I watched him closely, his breathing, his movement the look in his eye, his body language. I was amazed as I began to see when I put my awareness in the right place.
Through my interpretation of his behavior I realised that I held expectations about our relationship. I also believed my horse held expectations about me. Whilst I looked at him grazing in the field I saw that he knows no expectations, he is an animal, living naturally in the moment. The expectation could only come from me.
My role as a rider is a culmination of expectations derived from beliefs and attitudes that have come from every single part of my life and not just my experiences with horses. This is a profound recognition for me. I have learned that when I get on my horse he carries everything that I am. When I really started to consider this and how he was showing me that in his behavior and movement, I began to see how he was also showing me about my expectations and attitudes that I was carrying.
Standing in the field looking at him I experience him as simple beauty. To me, he is whole, he has no wants, no needs, he is pure existence."
When I handle him I experience him differently, he becomes, lazy or headstrong, unwilling or unstoppable. This behavior is reminiscent of my own, swinging between two extremes. As I ride, using the techniques taught to me by Caroline, I connect with the simplicity of his big golden heart and the behavior begins to balance.
My aim in working with Caro is to ride him without structure and conditioning. It will be a beautiful experience, riding with him and flowing with the connection to life.
Awakening with horses is a beautiful and simple process of grounding yourself in this awareness and truly flowing into existence. Through its processes I am deepening my connection with the horses I come into contact with. This is having a profoundly wonderful impact on my connection to myself."

"Interestingly (for me!) I schooled my horse on Saturday and bore in mind what you said about trying to be neutral and also his desire to be free - I tried to tune into him and ignore what was going on outside and also to allow him to go forward through riding with looser legs and after starting off on the wrong leg on the right rein, he corrected himself and did a whole circuit in true canter on the right lead (for the first time in years!) He managed to replicate it in our dressage tests on Sunday so obviously I was the barrier!
If that's what can be achieved through a brief session I am sure there is a lot more we could achieve together."
"Well over 10 years ago I saw an article in your horse magazine on integration therapy, I rang and invited Caroline to do some integration work with our horses. Although I hadn't spoken to Caroline about our horses she was able to tune in to them and access information on them through their energy field.
This unnerved me when she told me quite clearly about my horses backgrounds. I decided I needed to learn more about what Caroline did! Through Caroline's awareness I was opened and reminded of the deeper levels of consciousness that sometimes we forget to access in everyday life.
As Caroline became more integrated in our lives at the Hampshire Riding Therapy Centre she was valuable in her capacity as a BHSII and therapist running evening classes and giving lessons for the charity.
Running a charity with 40 horses many volunteers and over 500 people coming through the doors a week I personally became exhausted approximately 5 years after opening. Caroline helped me with centering, improving energy levels and fueling life with more clarity using E F T - relaxation techniques, meditation and her coaching ability.
My horse at that time had issues with me and our level of competing was not good, but with some assistance from Caroline we went on to compete at national level successfully."
